They are played on top of the corresponding Basic Pokmon (or Fossil Trainer cards treated as Basic Pokmon, in some cases)
As such, you can attack with a haste creature the turn it enters the battlefield, or you can activate its tap abilities if it has any
There are even 7 extremely weird cards named Manhole, which are uniquely odd
